VoiceDial:Do not waste your time or money

Do not waste your time or money, terrible recognition software, dials to fast not allowing you to terminate wrong number you might have chosen or application misunderstood.

Does Not Work Well-Not Recommended

After recording voice tags for my contacts, I found that it had trouble understanding my commands. I was in a quiet room. Unfortunately, it does not listen over a bluetooth connection, only through the speakerphone mic. I would imagine that driving in my car the recognition would be even worse. Another problem was that if it responded with the wrong contact, it would dial that number and had to quickly end the call by pressing End Call. I deleted the app. Wasted $15.

Not at all pleased

I do not think that it works very well. After entering my own office several times and saving each, it takes two or three tries! And, I dont stutter, not that there is anything wrong wtih stuttering.

Not worth the effort or price

You must record each contact you want to be able to access via the program. If you have a large contact list, be prepared to set aside a day to do that. If you speak a contact you havent recorded, the software "chooses" a contact that doesnt sound anything like the one you spoke. Why cant someone come up with a Voice Command for the iPhone. The absence of that one application is the reason my iPhone is worthless for my business practice.

Curt

Does not recognize voice recordings +-80% of the time over priced for a LEMON

The best I have seen, But we still need ture voice dailing, Like on other phones.

This app works relatively good, But some times it don’t understand what I am saying, But it dose most of the time, Like all other applications it can’t run in the back ground which is apples fault, With a Bluetooth head set pair the application dose not use the headset, The headset only works after the call has been started, I don’t know if it is possible with the way the Iphone is but it would be wonderful if the application would get the sound form the headset microphone when a headset is prided with the Iphone and the sound needs to be heard form the headset. I give it 3 stars, I might be wrong but I would think the application could be made to at least hear commands using a paired head set, I know it doesn’t work like real voice command but should at least have both sound and hearing for a headset once the application is activated. Ps. As far as the price it is a bit high but most people seem to be charging a high price for most applications, So that is nothing new but its sad, But I will say this the application is worth it as far as what I have experience with it. And with as of now what seems to be limitating applications. PSS. Shame on apple for not automatically putting at lease voice dialing if not voice command on the Iphone to begin with, My old razor had voice commands, And the cool iphone doesn’t have that, that’s really sad.

Limited to About 10 Contacts

Its really hard to feel like this app is worth it. The voice recognition software is limited to about 10 contacts. I found that if you save three "samples" for each of the 10 contacts during the training process, you only get about 80% accuracy. Also, you dont save that many taps when you use VoiceDial compared to just selecting someone in your "Favorites" list. This isnt a bad application, it just isnt a good solution for voice dialing on the iPhone.

Voice Dial, not blue tooth Voice Dial for iPhone and not for FREE

When I came home with the iPhone, my wife, had only two issues. One was that she and other women have finger nails, the acceleromter screen will not recognize her finger nails. Two, unlike her current cell phone, the iPhone had no Voice Dial. Now, in all fairness, with her current phone, she must take it out of her bag, open the phone and touch one button, then speak a name to Voice Dial. This program requires the iPhone to be turned on, DUH!, to be unlocked for use, DUH! and you must select this program in order to speak a name for it to recognize and then call. Yes, it does repeat your recorded name, by saying, you said "Wife" or "Mother" or "Work" or "Phillip" or whatever the recorded name you taught this program. After that it works flawlessly, I activate the iPhone, I unlock the screen, select Voice dial and speak the "Mother" I want to call and it does it perfectly. I am sorry, this is Voice Dial, it works just as I thought it would, its name is not Voice Dial for Bluetooth for iPhone and it is worth $14.99. I cant take my wife or my mother to a movie for $14.99 but I can call them without dialing. I cant purchase four gallons of gas for $14.99 but I can have voice dial on my iPhone. I am personally without a job, yes, unemployed but $14.99 is nothing for a program which actually works. So, any review here, which is less than truthful, you the public thinking about whether this is the application to purchase to get the needed Voice Dial which was left out on the iPhone we love so much, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, *****, five stars. So So....

It dials the wrong contacts. Some of them are not even close. I will try and re-record them. I am dissappointed.

Great app!!!!!

Period. It works flawlesly if you read the instructions first and follow the steps accurately. Stop writing bad reviews unless you actually try the program first. This is a great app if you know how to use it. Five stars *****

Worthless and time consuming

I can not believe how poor this app performs! Absolute waste of time and money

Useless

Does not work...not even close.

Barely works at all, waste of money

I bought this because all my old phones had it and I always enjoyed using it. This app however is WAY overpriced and never picks the correct contact. I tried repeatedly to train just a few well used numbers and it would mess those up horribly each time. I wish I could get my money back. No updates is also a joke. Apple should pull this app because it does not work as advertised. If you buy this, I warned you first!

Dont buy this

Worst app out there. For the price I expect it to work. Well, it doesnt. There is no development on the program either. I dont think it has ever updated. I have had to update Sol Free (free solitare program) more. In short, I want to find a way to get my money back.

Watch Out

Okay, Ill start by playing nice. The user interface is clean and easy to follow, both for set up and calling. But forget it when it comes to recognition. Scored 2 out of 25 when sitting at my desk in a clean audio environment with absolutely no extraneous noise. And I spent $15 on this? As PT sez, "theres one borne every minute." Well at least it was better than Speech Cloud, but that one is free.

Update

If you are upset that the iPhone currently does not have built-in voice recognition, this app will not help you. This app is also not good for people who want to keep their iPhone in their purse or pocket since you must touch the screen to activate. If you want a voice recognition dialer for the iPhone that works as advertised, VoiceDial is a nice app to be used primarily when driving. The best setup is to put the iPhone in a holder in your car lighter or anywhere within reach to tap the screen in front of you with a quick glance, the same as you would to adjust the stereo settings. Set the phone and launch the app before you start driving. Is this more of a pain than the tons of other phones with built-in voice dial that works even by pushing just one button on a Bluetooth headset - YES, but until Apple builds this feature into the iPhone, we have to either buy a different phone or use an app like this. Record the tag words with the phone in the holder in your car, including one tag using the headphones and it will always recognize the name unless there is too much other loud noise around.

Great app for personal use

In case you are wondering, as I was...1) The problem with re-dialing has been fixed. 2) This app is accurate if you follow the instructions 3) Since you need to record a voice sample for each number, its great for your "speed dial" top 10 numbers. If you are a business user with hundreds of contacts, this is not the best app...4) The price has been lowered and makes more sense for personal use. In short, I love it!

This is the best by far!

This voice app works perfectly. I love it!

not worth the money

This app is not worth this amout of money, as a matter of fact, for me, it is worthless. It can not get the name right 9 time out of 10. This may be because I have an very very deep voice and it can not correctly hear me, but none the less it simply can not do the job. However by the rules it appears that I have been stuck with the charge and no way out. Be very carefull if you want this product, it simply does not work for me, even using the triple sample. Caveat emptor
